US sanctions on Cuba hit military firm and Canadian miner

The United States imposed new sanctions on Cuba, targeting the military conglomerate GAESA and the Moa Nickel mine. In response, Canadian mining company Sherritt International suspended its operations in Cuba and three directors resigned, causing its shares to plummet.
