Domestic

In March, Iraq's domestic affairs were dominated by a significant security incident in its energy sector. Two oil tankers, one of which was Greek-owned, were attacked in Iraqi territorial waters, resulting in one fatality. In response to the attacks, the Iraqi government announced the closure of its oil export ports. Iraqi authorities also coordinated the rescue of over twenty crew members from one of the damaged vessels. The government stated it reserves the right to pursue legal action regarding the attacks that occurred within its maritime jurisdiction.
