French Navy intercepts Russian-linked oil tanker in the Mediterranean Sea

The French Navy has boarded and detained an oil tanker in the Mediterranean Sea. French President Emmanuel Macron said the vessel was sailing from Russia and is suspected of being part of a 'shadow fleet' used to evade sanctions on Russian oil.

A Russian senator said the detention increases tensions between France and Russia. The tanker was reportedly carrying sanctioned oil.
