France, Germany, Italy and UK condemn Israeli E1 settlement plans - War on Gaza - War on Gaza

On 20 August 2026, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom condemned Israel's E1 settlement plans in the West Bank. In a joint statement they demanded that Israel withdraw the E1 project immediately and halt settlement expansion, and they urged it to stop the settlement tenders.

The UK threatened sanctions. The BBC listed Canada among the countries condemning the project, and Al Jazeera reported that Palestinians and the UK condemned the plan as "destructive".
