Turkish authorities launch multiple security operations against crime and terrorism

Turkish authorities have carried out several major security operations across the country. Police in Istanbul shut down 406 online accounts linked to organized crime, while in another operation, they captured 96 suspects from the terrorist group MLKP. Separately, police detained 25 people in a bribery investigation at the CHP-run municipality in Izmir.

Meanwhile, Turkish political parties are reportedly close to an agreement on a key report concerning the disarmament of the PKK, a designated terrorist organization. The Turkish Cabinet also held a meeting where regional security was a high-priority agenda item.
