Italian leader Meloni discusses Trump peace board and Nobel prize with German counterpart

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with Chancellor Friedrich Merz. They discussed a shared 'pragmatic' approach to dealing with the United States under Donald Trump.

Meloni said she asked Trump to change the 'configuration' of a proposed 'Board of Peace' and suggested he could receive a Nobel Peace Prize if he ended the war in Ukraine. She noted there are constitutional issues delaying Italy's final decision on joining the board.
