UK and EU reassure Cyprus after Iranian drone attack on British base

The UK has stated it is not at war with Iran after Iranian drones struck the RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and EU leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, have unequivocally assured Cyprus that it was not the intended target of the attack and that the EU stands firmly behind it. The UK also clarified that the United States has not requested, and will not use, British bases in Cyprus for military operations.
