Heavy snowfall and rain have caused major disruptions in the Indian-administered region of Kashmir. The weather has closed highways, grounded flights, and paralyzed daily life in areas like Srinagar.

Separately, a medical college in Kashmir was shut down by authorities. Reports indicate this happened after Muslim students earned most of the admissions to the institution.
