Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz again, a critical waterway for global oil shipments. An Iranian official stated the country is giving priority to ships that pay a new 'Hormuz fee' for passage.
As a result, at least eight India-bound ships turned back after attempting to cross the strait. Iran claims it has 'strict control' over the waterway and has threatened to target any ship that approaches it without permission.
