South Korean President Lee visits China and asks Xi to help with North Korea talks

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung visited China for a state visit and met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Lee asked Xi to act as a mediator to help restart talks between the United States and North Korea.

Lee said the visit helped restore relations between South Korea and China, which had been strained. He also said South Korea would manage its relationship with China without being swayed by emotions and would work to resolve a Chinese ban on Korean cultural content.
