Courts block Republican redistricting plans in Alabama and South Carolina

Federal courts have blocked Republican-backed redistricting plans in Alabama and South Carolina. In Alabama, a court ruled the proposed map still violated the Voting Rights Act, even after a recent Supreme Court ruling on Louisiana. In South Carolina, a Trump-supported plan was also rejected by the state legislature.
