Israel builds barrier inside Gaza amid rising death toll

Israel is constructing a miles-long barrier inside Gaza, extending nearly a mile beyond the so-called Yellow Line, to entrench a division of the territory. An Israeli minister stated the goal is to control Gaza and enable settlement there. The United Nations has denounced the intensifying attacks as a 'creeping death' and an annexation effort. Meanwhile, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 73,305, with a dozen more Palestinians killed.
