Israel restricts access to Al-Aqsa Mosque for Palestinians as Ramadan begins

Israel has imposed new restrictions on access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan starts. Police are blocking roads in Palestinian neighborhoods of East Jerusalem and have barred the mosque's imam from entering.

Separately, Israeli authorities are conducting a land registration drive in East Jerusalem, which Palestinians fear could lead to their dispossession.
