Israel launches widespread strikes on Hezbollah targets across Lebanon

Israel carried out a series of military strikes against Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, including in the capital city of Beirut. The attacks hit multiple locations, with verified video showing a building in Beirut on fire. The Israeli military also issued evacuation warnings for about 50 areas in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah responded by launching strikes into northern Israel. The Israeli military stated it struck facilities belonging to the Al-Qard Al-Hasan Association, which it says funds Hezbollah, and reported killing a Hezbollah operative in Beirut. Israeli officials also named Hezbollah's deputy leader, Naim Qassem, as a 'marked target'.

The situation has escalated tensions significantly, with the Israeli military warning of a potential ground invasion into Lebanon. The exchanges of fire are part of a broader regional conflict that has seen Israel also conducting strikes against Iranian targets.
