US and Israel strike Iran as conflict enters second week

The war between the US, Israel, and Iran has entered its 12th day. The US and Israel conducted what were described as their heaviest strikes yet on Iran, with the Pentagon estimating the cost of munitions used in the early phase of the conflict at $5.6 billion.

In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted a US base in Iraq's Kurdistan region. The Pentagon also reported that about 140 US service members have been wounded in the conflict so far, with eight of those injuries classified as severe.
