Iran threatens to close Strait of Hormuz if US attacks its power plants

Iran's military, specifically the IRGC, has threatened to completely close the Strait of Hormuz if the United States carries out strikes on Iranian power plants. The threat is a direct response to a reported ultimatum from President Donald Trump.

Iran also stated that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all shipping except for vessels linked to what it calls 'enemy' countries. The closure of the strait would severely disrupt global oil shipments, as a significant portion of the world's seaborne oil passes through this narrow waterway.
