Strikes hit Tehran and Gulf region amid heightened tensions

A series of strikes hit targets in and around Tehran, Iran. Reports indicate a former foreign minister was seriously injured and his wife was killed in one strike. Other strikes southwest of the city reportedly killed at least 13 people, including six children.

In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it targeted an Israel-linked ship in the Gulf. Iran also reportedly struck critical infrastructure in Gulf countries, including an airport in Kuwait and a tanker off Qatar.

Donald Trump commented on the situation, claiming Iranian military leaders were killed in the Tehran strikes. The events occurred ahead of a planned speech by Trump.
